As I type these lines, I am ministering in Yémenes, Spain. The occasion is the 25 th anniversary celebration of Royal Rangers in this European-Spanish-speaking nation.

God has been faithful and the ministry is making a real impact! One of the highlights of the celebration were the many testimonies shared.

Luis Ortega, was one of the men who attended the celebration. He testified that because of Royal Rangers, he never felt envious of his unsaved classmates growing up. Monday mornings at school they would be gloating about their parties, alcohol, and “conquests.” Then they would turn to him. “What did you do, Luis?”

He was never intimidated by them! He would confidently tell them about his backpacking or camping trip, repelling experiences, or community evangelism-service projects. Having the right things to do did more that give him a good answer for his peers. Through the Royal Rangers discipleship process he grew strong in his walk with the Lord and received a call to ministry.

He is an Assemblies of God seminary graduate, and, for the past two years, Luis has been on staff at Nueva Vida (New Life Assembly) in Madrid, Spain—a congregation of 700. In addition to his many responsibilities, he is also pastoring a pioneer work the church is mothering. And, of course, they are starting a Royal Rangers ministry in the new congregation—he wouldn’t have it any other way!

It was exciting to share with the leaders the new Global Curriculum we will provide them next February. A number of the leaders plan to accompany Carlos García, the National Director, to Orlando, Florida to attend the “Seminario de Actualización Latinoamericano” that we described in our last newsletter (click here to read that newsletter). They can’t wait to implement the new evangelism and discipleship curriculum; they are eager to reach, teach and keep thousands upon thousands of lost people for Christ all over Spain!

The celebration was a great time of reflection, affirmation, and anticipation—knowing that God has been, is now, and will continue to be faithful.

Thank you for your friendship and support. Kerry and I consider ourselves the most privileged people on earth! You empower us to equip leaders all around the world to reach and disciple today’s boys to be tomorrow’s men. Together we are determining the destiny of nations!
